Music Speaks When I Can Not
I am a firm believer that when there are no words to say, music says it perfectly. I have not written a blog in two months. I feel I have so much to say and to write, and when I sit to compose a blog, I don't know where to start, how to begin, or how to organize my thoughts. This morning, though, something extraordinary happened.
As I do every morning, I was out at 4:45am on my run. And as I do every morning, I was listening to my Praise and Worship Apple Music radio station. And as I do every morning, I was praying and giving my heart to God. And then a song came on that made me stop. It made me cry tears of hope, joy, and love. And I was at once convicted to come write in my blog, sharing this song with you.
It is a simple song. It is a song that reminds us over and over that God is Good. And He holds onto us.
In the last week or so, I have had several people talk to me, either asking me for counseling/coaching or just asking questions regarding their anxiety, stress, lack of motivation, fear for the future. I, myself, had a day this week where I was so angry (over the smallest little things) and could not shake that feeling. And I thought to myself, "How can I help others? I am struggling to help myself!" Hearing this song this morning...well, I have no words. You'll just need to listen to it.
Listen to it, and know that God loves you. When you feel there is nothing to hold onto, He is holding onto you. He is our Great Counselor. And that is all I have to say today.
